DAISY-MAE GIFTS AND TREASURES

HOW WE STARTED

Our small business began as a simple idea born from love, creativity, and a deep desire to support our Mom Pauline. For most of her life, Pauline was a skilled seamstress, creating beautiful handmade pieces with care. However, as the years passed, she developed dementia, and we found ourselves searching for ways to keep her engaged in something she loved. That’s when inspiration struck. We decided to bring sewing back into her life. As she went on Sewing became more than just a hobby; it became a way to reconnect with her past and give her a sense of purpose.  As her passion reignited, so did ours. Seeing how much she enjoyed crafting again, we realised we could turn this into something bigger, a family-driven business built on creativity and love.

"I naturally stepped in to help care for Mom, spending my evenings making sure she’s comfortable and engaged. But I’m not just a caregiver I’ve always loved crafting, Whether it’s crocheting, knitting or sewing I’m constantly bringing new ideas to life. As I watched Mom find joy in sewing again, it reminded me just how powerful creativity can be. It’s more than just making things it’s about connection and preserving memories. Mom’s hands may not be as steady as they once were, but her passion is still there, and that inspires me every day. Sitting together, working on different projects, has become a treasured time for us. The more I created, the more I wanted to explore new ideas, and soon, my son Dan and his girlfriend Anna joined in. Their creativity took things in an exciting direction, especially with their upcycled crafts. Seeing all of us working together, turning old items into something beautiful and new made me realise that this wasn’t just a hobby it was the foundation of our family business."
